Frameless Spigot Mounted Balustrades

Spigot mounted glass balustrades are very popular (particularly for balcony areas) as they look amazing, and the spigots ensure a very strong fixing method into the floor surface. Spigot mounted glass balustrades can also be used on stair and void areas.

This type of glass balustrade is ideal for balcony areas, and frameless side pin fixed glass balustrades come with: Duplex Grade 2205 Stainless Steel Spigots , 12mm Toughened Glass and a Stainless Steel or Timber Handrail (either side mounted or top mounted – see images below).

They can also be installed with no handrail by using a laminated Vistaview product. This laminated product looks great (see images below), but it does add a significant cost to your installation

Top Mount Handrail

A top-mounted handrail looks really sleek on a spigot-mounted glass balustrade – as there is no need for any “glass to handrail” brackets coming out from the side of the glass panels.

Easily the most popular top mounted stainless steel handrail profile is the thin 21mm x 25mm rectangular, but other top-mounted handrail profiles are available (eg 25mm round, 42mm round, or 25mm x 50mm rectangular – which is quite an expensive profile).

Side Mount Handrail

A side-mounted handrail is generally the most popular option with a spigot-mounted frameless glass balustrade – as this ensures that there are no finger marks left on the glass panels.

The side-mounted stainless steel handrails come in three different profiles – 38mm round (very popular, sleek design), 50mm round (strong and sturdy handrail), and 25mm x 50mm rectangular (also a very popular profile).
